Halberstaedter Wohnungsgesellschaft mbH constructs, manages, operates and administers buildings in all legal and usage forms and may acquire, encumber and sell land as well as grant leasehold rights (corporate purpose). As the municipal housing company of the city of Halberstadt, HaWoGe was one of the largest local market participants and managed 3,713 apartments, 93 commercial units and numerous garages and parking spaces as of 31 December 2024. The main activity in 2024 was management and modernization of its housing stock and administration for third parties and the city; the average rent for apartments was €5.75/m² in December 2024. Offerings include target-group oriented services such as assisted living and the “neue wohnen” project in cooperation with Diakonie and the company operates the HaWoGe-Spiele-Magazin (an indoor playground) which had 70,299 visitors in 2024.
