Nutzfahrzeuge Rohr GmbH develops, manufactures and distributes custom commercial vehicle superstructures, trailers and semi-trailers as well as tank vehicles for temperature-controlled food and goods transport, mineral oil supply, aircraft refuelling and military applications. Research and development capacity was significantly expanded during the fiscal year; a total of 17 employees were engaged in project planning and product development in the vehicle and tank construction areas. Total revenue increased by 5% over the prior year, the share of foreign revenue was 11.2% and the gross margin improved from 27% of total output to 33.9%. On 30 May 2014 the subsidiary Frech‑Hoch Kuehlwagen AG was sold and a shareholder loan was converted into capital reserves, raising the equity ratio to 10.7% (total core funding ratio 19.3%).
