MEV Eisenbahn-Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH

MEV Eisenbahn-Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH, based in Mannheim, provides rail transport services, supplies and places qualified personnel (e.g. train drivers, conductors, dispatchers) and offers training and education. The company operates a state-recognized training facility, conducts courses using simulators and web-based trainings, and holds its own safety certificate (SiBe) for freight operations in Germany which was renewed in October 2023 for five years; an application to extend the SiBe to the Netherlands was filed with ERA in autumn 2024. MEV does not own locomotives or wagons and can rent vehicles when required. In fiscal year 2024 MEV employed on average 416 people and reports about 280 train drivers, corresponding to a market share of under 1%.
