MV Mannheimer Verkehr GmbH

MV Mannheimer Verkehr GmbH is a dependent company of MKB Mannheimer Kommunalbeteiligungen GmbH (99.99% shareholder) and is subject to a domination and profit-and-loss transfer agreement; the City of Mannheim holds the remaining shares. The company is responsible for providing and expanding local and regional public transport infrastructure in Mannheim and manages the rail infrastructure on the Mannheim–Weinheim–Heidelberg line (excluding Heidelberg city area) and the branch from Mannheim-Käfertal to Heddesheim. MV supplies tracks, electrical systems, stops and depots to Rhein-Neckar-Verkehr GmbH (rnv) for a fee, also leases vehicles and provides personnel under employee leasing, generating revenues from employee leasing (5,992 T€). In October 2024 the City of Mannheim entrusted MV with these tasks for an additional 22.5 years until 2047.
