The Berufsfoerderungswerk der Bauindustrie NRW gGmbH (BFW) is a non-profit company whose purpose is to promote vocational training in the construction industry and provide youth welfare measures. According to its articles, the BFW conducts inter-company training courses, offers socio-pedagogical support in guesthouses and participates in national and international education, research and development projects. The BFW operates training centres in Hamm, Kerpen and Oberhausen that are available to member companies of the Bauindustrieverband NRW as well as third-party companies, and provides catering and accommodation for participants. Inter-company training has historically been the BFW's strongest revenue driver.
