Lebenshilfe Werkstätten Hand in Hand gGmbH establishes, maintains and operates workshops for people with intellectual, psychological, physical and multiple disabilities and pursues exclusively charitable and benevolent purposes according to its articles of association. The company was founded on 14 March 1994 and is headquartered in Cottbus; it operates at 17 locations in the city of Cottbus and the Spree-Neiße district. LW is divided into the Work Area (AB), the Vocational Training Area (BBB) and the Support and Employment Area (FBB) and conducts production in trades such as bio-farm, fine kitchen, catering, gardening/floristry, ceramics, candles, carpentry and newly introduced projects such as vehicle reconditioning, soap workshop, ice-cream workshop, shop and café. The company’s primary financing is provided by cost bearers; for 2024 capacity of 690 places in the Work Area and 52 places in the Support and Employment Area was agreed.
