EKPO Fuel Cell Technologies GmbH conducts research, development, production and sales of PEM fuel cell stacks and components such as bipolar plates, media modules and sealing solutions, focusing on on‑road mobility as well as other mobile and stationary applications. Since March 2021 EKPO has been part of the ElringKlinger group; the French supplier OPmobility holds 40% and committed to contributions of EUR 100 million over four years, and the company is fully consolidated. In 2024 EKPO expanded production and development capacities at Dettingen/Erms, officially opened the plant in Suzhou (China) and started sales and customer support activities in Fort Wayne (USA). Financially EKPO recorded a gross profit of EUR 25,926,746 in 2024, an EBIT of -EUR 16.0 million, a net loss of -EUR 20,716,347, investments of EUR 10.1 million and an average workforce of 226 employees, 60.4% of whom work in research and development.
