Energie- und Wasserversorgung Bitz GmbH supplies the population and commerce of the municipality of Bitz with electricity, gas and water. The company is headquartered in Albstadt and is registered at the Stuttgart local court (HRB 401204); shareholders are 60% the municipality of Bitz and 40% Albstadtwerke GmbH. In its concession area EWB supplies 78.95% of customers with electricity and 72.0% of gas connections; it does not sell outside the municipal boundaries. The operating organization is very lean: besides the management and one authorised officer the company employs no further staff, and parts of network operation are provided under lease/operation by Albstadtwerke.
