Container Terminal Halle (Saale) GmbH

Container Terminal Halle (Saale) GmbH operates the container terminal and port facilities in Halle-Trotha, including a rail network of over 9 km, providing rail and road services for seaport hinterland traffic. Its main services are container handling, dispositive services (organization of complex transport chains), rail services (operation of track infrastructure, traction and shunting) as well as rental/leasing of areas and the sale of diesel fuel to commercial third parties. The company, with roughly stable year-on-year container throughput, is the largest public container terminal in Saxony-Anhalt and offers non-discriminatory access to railway infrastructure under the AEG. In the reporting year the CTHS employed on average 75 staff and provides ancillary services such as weighing and depot management; shipping traffic has been almost negligible due to unfavorable Saale navigation conditions.
