HFTS Helicopter Flight Training Services GmbH supplies and maintains training simulators and operates four full‑flight‑mission simulators for the NH90 at the sites Bueckeburg (2), Fassberg (1) and Niederstetten (1). The company was founded in 2004 by a consortium of AIRBUS HELICOPTERS DEUTSCHLAND GmbH, CAE GmbH, Rheinmetall Electronics GmbH and Thales Deutschland GmbH; the four shareholders each hold 25%. Its client is the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw); the contract covers development, construction and operation of the training centers and was extended by Option 1 until 31 January 2028. In addition, HFTS provides console‑operator services for the Bundeswehr Service Centre Wunstorf (1,918 console hours in 2024) and concluded in December 2024 a framework agreement for up to 2,466 hours per year.
