Scherer & Kohl GmbH performs earthworks, excavation and demolition work, assembly and disassembly services, manufactures and sells alternative construction materials and other recycling products, trades sand and gravel, disposes of excavated soil and construction waste, executes transport contracts and mediates these services to subcontractors. The company has over six decades of operational history (start 1960), has been part of the Jakob Becker Group since 01/01/2008 and operates sites in Ludwigshafen (headquarters), Mannheim and Goellheim with a focus on the Rhine‑Neckar metropolitan region. With a modern fleet and specialized plant technology the company produces and markets recycled construction materials for frost protection and base layers, aggregates for concrete and asphalt as well as sands and topsoils; in 2023 approximately 200,000 tonnes of recycled construction materials were produced in the Ludwigshafen and Mannheim recycling plants. The group includes subsidiaries eneotech Umwelt GmbH (water technology), Mineralstoff Vorderpfalz GmbH (sand extraction and recycling plant) and, since 01/01/2023, Koester Umwelttechnik GmbH (groundwater remediation); as of 31/12/2023 the company employed 128 people.
