Kugel- und Rollenlagerwerk Leipzig GmbH is a subsidiary of ZWZ Bearing Europe GmbH and part of the Wafangdian Bearing Group, the largest state-owned bearing manufacturer in China. The company develops, manufactures and sells ball and roller bearings and bearing components under the KRW brand and supplies more than 600 customers in over 35 countries. Its business fields are development and production of bearings and bearing components (approx. 99.0% of sales) and services related to bearings (approx. 1.0%); the product portfolio includes over 900 bearing types with diameters from 50 mm to 2,500 mm, and ring manufacturing capacity was expanded in 2023 to produce large bearings up to 2,500 mm. Products have been manufactured at the historic Leipzig site since 1934; on average 237 employees worked in 2023 and production takes place on 36,000 m².
