Maurer-Atmos Middleby GmbH, based in Reichenau, is part of The Middleby Corporation and provides planning, engineering, development, manufacturing, trade and service for process engineering plants as well as energy and environmental technical equipment. At the Reichenau site the company manufactures thermal processing systems for meat, fish and poultry products, notably automated climate and ripening systems, continuous in-line systems, semi-continuous systems and batch systems for smoking, cooking, baking and cooling. The product range also includes smoke generators, cooking kettles, thawing equipment and spare parts; the company is export-oriented and in 2023 recorded its largest order intakes in Germany, France, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Japan, Brazil and the USA. In fiscal year 2023 Maurer-Atmos employed on average 101 people and reported revenues of EUR 28.5 million and a net profit after tax of EUR 3,920,804.93.
