Heckmann Stahl- u. Metallbau Ost GmbH manufactures plants and plant components in areas such as plant construction, mechanical engineering (machine manufacturing and contract machining in the machining sector), process engineering, and pressure, vacuum and storage vessel construction. The company also operates in sheet metal construction, conveyor technology, steel construction, surface treatment, and service activities, and maintains a separate division producing exhaust systems (notably large silencers) for Heckmann Maschinenbau und Verfahrenstechnik GmbH.
