GÜFA Gesellschaft zur Übernahme und Wahrnehmung von Filmaufführungsrechten mit beschränkter Haftung

GUeFA's corporate purpose is the acquisition and fiduciary management of rights and claims of film producers and authors of all kinds under copyright law. The company was founded in 1976 and on 13 December 1976 received authorization to operate from the German Patent and Trade Mark Office. As a collecting society GUeFA is legally not allowed to show a profit; all proceeds, after deduction of costs, must be distributed to the entitled beneficiaries. As of the balance sheet date GUeFA represents the film repertoire of 142 film producers and 114 film authors and operates in several European countries either directly or via representation agreements. Key revenue sources are device- and storage-media levies (ZPUe) and revenues from public performances; in 2024 €2.5 million related to storage-media levies and €1.3 million to public performances.
