Wirtschaftsfoerderungsgesellschaft Hochsauerlandkreis mbH, based in Meschede, has the corporate purpose of improving the structure of the Hochsauerlandkreis by promoting the economy, including tourism, transport and social, cultural and sporting facilities. Because the WFG is not commercially oriented, many services are provided free of charge and losses are covered under a profit transfer agreement by the Vermoegensverwaltungsgesellschaft des Hochsauerlandkreises (VVGH), resulting in a balanced reported annual result.
